"Chieko's Sky"
I'm reading this absolutely beautiful book of poetry by Takamura Kotaro: "Chieko's Sky." It originally caught my eye in Japanese class because Chieko is the name of my main RP OC, and so I checked it out. It is so breathtakingly beautiful, and very witty at times. You can imagine the point of view ranging from old-old Japan, and modern-now Japan, even though the poems in it were written from 1912 to 1949. It's about a love affair, and the love in it is so... amazing.
Some lines that really got to me in seperate, lo~ong poems:
you mustn't you mustn't/put your hands on this tranquil water/much less, toss in a stone (fear, Takamura: "Chieko's Sky")
whenever I think of you/ I feel eternity most intimately/ I am you are/ nothing more am I/ my life and yours/twist entangle dissolve/and return to their chaotic origins (us, Takamura: "Chieko's Sky")
oh! to what a mysterious sea-bed of love you tempt me./ the panorama of the ten seasons we walked together/ only reveals to me the feminine infinite within you (beneath the trees, Takamura: "Chieko's Sky")
If you ever, ever come across it, I tell you wholeheartedly that I would rather by this than manga any day. And that's saying something. I think I'll steal it from Sensei... X3
