Over the last few days, we've had a little bit of coverage on "SF-A2 Kaihatsu Code Miki", a singing CHRISTMASLOID based on Furukawa Miki's voice
[link] and the pair of cute little text-to-speech synthesis releases, the VOICEROIDS Tsukuyomi Ai and Shota
[link ai -
link shota]. This is a pretty busy little software company, isn't it? There are two more releases it's planning this year for a total of five!
One is Kaai Yuki
[link], a middle-school student. Unlike Miki, she isn't designed with the usual VOCALOID2 cyberpunk characteristics; she's dressed just like a normal student would, and if you listen to her voice samples, she really sounds the part! She has a very raw little voice. I also like that her design isn't rail-thin; rock those curves, Yukitan!!!
Next, and I'm sure this will stir up some excitement for the man-hungry Vocaloid community who base their judgements entirely on gender *dodges vegetables* is Hiyama Kiyoteru,
[link] a male twentysomething schoolteacher with glasses. He's got a little headset going on there, but otherwise he looks like he could have just stumbled out of the teacher's lounge. His design is a little cute, right? His voice sounds frighteningly similar to KAITO's-- I'm sure I'll be able to tell the difference after hearing it a bit (and it's certainly much more advanced and clear than poor KAITO's) but it's a very similar sound!
I'm looking forward to all these new releases, and don't forget that POWER-FX is planning to release the verrrrrrry manly Big Al in a very short time! So many new additions to the VOCALOID family; I wonder how this will shape the fandom?
What are your thoughts on the new characters? The voices? Go ahead and discuss!
