I've been a Pokemon addict since I was a toddler, but getting into actual manga/anime, a few years ago I remember seeing a crapload of vids on YouTube of some kind of skinny Santa and then seeing a model for the same guy for sale on IMVU, I decided to check it out. I delved straight into the world of InuYasha, and it's escalated since.
4.Have you ever got a crush on a fictional character? Oh man. Where to start. Thomas the Tank Engine, Luigi, Ash Ketchum, hundreds of bishies, and now just about every Hetalia fruit.

Well. I've finally managed to get Hetalia 28 and 29 watched.

Notes on 28: I'm a little confused about the animators' choice of Finland's iris color, but I'll eventually get over it.

And on 29: I've never been Russia's biggest fan, but I must admit that he is a cute yandere. And Latvia's line just cracked me up: "I hate this life! Let's go rely on Germany!" Well, it worked for Italy. What boggled my brain is that Lithuania pronounced Germany too scary. When he lives with an enormous psychopath that beats him. Oh well. The trembling trio had lovely eyes, too (even if the weren't exactly the colors Hidekaz assigned). And ah, the banana-ice cream incident. Oh America. Only you. (Notice how England is decent enough to not only offer ice cream, but cart our hero to the hospital as well. What a star.)

And I've been thinking: remember how Koreo thoroughly insisted that Hetalia should not be animated because of Korea's characterization? I hope they won't be pissy or anything if the animators don't add Korea at all.

(don't lose interest, the backstory should always come first) My grandmother, Aunt Jenny, and I went to see Julie & Julia today; excellent. We loved it. We went to Culvers after to eat, and I was trying to get my mayo out of the little packet. I'd only torn a small hole in it, so I was squeezing extra hard (I decided it would be too much of a hassle to tear a larger hole, so I just SQUEEZED), and then suddenly, mayo rockets out of the packet into the air. I see it shoot out of the corner of my eye and look on the floor, where a bunch of it landed. Jenny said, "Did it hit anyone?" and I said, "I don't think so," but then she saw that some had got on a lady in a nice-ish outfit.

My brain shut down, and I was completely useless. All I could do was grab a bunch of napkins and hand them to her. I was informed by my aunt that there was some on the seat behind her and went back, wiping that seat, apologizing like crazy. It was so mortifying. And when I finally got back to my seat, I felt this terrible pit in my stomach like something was still wrong, like maybe I hadn't apologized enough. It wasn't until we were back in the car and my grandmother mentioned it that I realized she hadn't accepted my apology. Actually, she hadn't said anything. At the time I thought, This is America; she could press charges!

I hope she doesn't have to get that outfit drycleaned... that would totally suck. I'm sorry, lady in pink!

I got a Tamagotchi (, now that I think about it, doesn't make sense; there is no "tchi" symbol in Japanese...) today. One of those new(?) music ones. My little-turned-big-in-a-day Noe! eats, poops, and plays music. Well... she eats when she's feeling particularly unpicky, she poops on the floor (and gets mad at me when I put her in timeout for it, the brat), and she plays bad music.

See, this is why I want a son.

So I'm leaving for another week. Again. This is so tiring~! Summer is for vegging in a dark little corner, not getting out and doing stuff! My youth group is leaving tonight at 10 PM. We're driving through the night to Colorado. Ten hours in a van with some of my favorite people... I'm almost afraid.

And, because I only found out just now, I'd like to mention how totally awesome it is that Luka's demo song is Amazing Grace.♥

I love making spaghetti for children that appreciate it. Declan wasn't vocal about liking it, but he keeps eating it (never-ending hunger. I'm surprised and envious that he's so skinny), but his five year old brother Carrig is a gem. He made me blush with his sweet words about my pasta and insisted on having seconds when he'd barely taken three bites.

He actually cleaned his plate and did have seconds, which surprised me because most children I come in contact with only think they'll have seconds, but he actually did, and he told me, "Good noodles are good luck."

(＊´∀｀＊) You... you're saying I made good luck? Carrig!♥

...Isn't that enough for a seven-year-old in a 90-minute timespan?

Not according to my young friend Declan, who happens to be the first child I've babysat outside of the family. Other than his insatiable appetite, he's quite a good kid (contrary to bad reports I've gotten from other babysitters), and I'm glad we get along, seeing as I'll be taking care of him and his younger brother all week. Sure, I've lost half my weight in sweat walking him hither and yon to play catch under the hot July sun, but I think I owe it to him.

Seeing as I, you know, accidentally hit him in the face with my orange soccer ball while explaining the chest pass. (My luck all in one painful toss.)

There are a couple things I've noticed lately in the world of fanfiction that sort of irk me.

In general: When people begin their fics with something like "I suck at writing." Personally, I'm a little hesitant to read things by people who begin with "This is my first time writing such and such" and extremely nervous at "first fics" and people who deem it the reader's duty to 'be gentle because it's their first time.' It's not sex, and the harsher people are in the beginning, the quicker one knows how to not screw up and be out of character. I don't like being asked to let OOCness slide, so I normally avoid fics that say things like that. When people say, "I suck at writing," it doesn't make me want to be lenient-- it makes me watch out fearfully for any suckishness if I end up reading it. I really wish people wouldn't do that.

Specifically Hetalia: In one of my SuFin fics, I got a smidgen of bad reception from a particular reviewer who is terribly opposed to Finland calling Sweden "Su-san" when not in the comic. I know others must have the same irk, because I've seen alternate nicknames for Sweden, like "Su-Su" (admittedly adorable). I understand full-well that Finland isn't Japanese, and he probably shouldn't use that honorific in English fanfiction. But then, what are we to do with Hanatamago? Finland isn't Japanese, so if I'm writing English fanfiction, shouldn't people be irritated that she's not called Floweregg? Or, in Finnish, Kukkamuna? And let's not forget, Sweden would have to call her Blommaägg. It's okay for Finland to have a Japanese-named dog, but not for him to call Sweden ~~his practically trademarked~~ Su-san? It just doesn't seem right to me.

I do. All of them are on the kink meme under Austria/Hungary.

5) Would seven and two make a good couple?

Certainly they are good friends, but I think they share too much romantic potential with other people (cough England and Poland cough) to be amorously entangled. They seem like good, refreshing vacations for each other, though, and it's enjoyable to watch them together.

6) Four/eight or four/nine?

Four/eight. Hungary would coddle Finland to death because he's such a cutie, but in the end, she'd enjoy it much more if he was with Sweden and would push them into romantic/embarrassing/fangirl situations.

7) What would happen if seven discovered three and eight in a secret relationship?

Lithuania discovering an England/Hungary tryst, hm? I think it would be in his nature to keep his mouth shut about it, but his loyalty to America would maybe prompt him to entice America out of favoring England.

... Not that I can imagine. I'm fairly certain that Germany would fail to frighten Finland (after years with Sweden and his facial expressions, Germany = fluffy bunny, y/y?), but the only thing I can think of close to "fluff" with Finland and Germany is Germany being pleased at how compliant and battle-ready Finland is. Appreciative fluff?

10) Suggest a title for a one/five Hurt/Comfort fic.

"Fishes and Wishes"

Kind of screwing around with the phrase "if wishes were fishes." I don't know... maybe Sweden and Seychelles being able to relate with one another by way of hopeful love? Sweden loves Finland with all of his heart and wants that love to be recognized while unwilling to rush his 'wife' while Seychelles harbors the secret wish to be acknowledged by ~~France~~ someone? Hopeful love buddies.

11. What kind of plot would you use for a three/eleven fic?

England coming to terms with his gayness with a little help from Poland, king of the fruits. It would, of course, be titled, "The Poof."

12. Does anyone on your friends list read number seven het? What about nine slash?

I'm sure someone supports Lithuania/Belarus. I sort of do.
Probably. I think Austria is interesting-- he's one of the most gay characters in Hetalia, but he's so... straight. It's brilliant.

13. If you wrote a songfic about number nine, what song would you chose?

Frou Frou's 'Old Piano'. There are really only five lines, and to me it could express his feelings about playing the piano.

14. If you wrote a two/three/six fic, what would the warning be?

DEPRESSED FACE IS DEPRESSED. I finished the entire Sukisyo animated series in one day. The manga is no where near as attractive, but I'll give it a go here soon.

I loved it sooo much. The characters were delightful, and the tiny snippets of smut... I have to say, my favorite pair is Shinichirou/Nanami. The characters individually are absolute gems (Nanami, who is completely lacking in all masculinity, and Shinichirou, the borderline tsundere), but together they make canon amazingness. Despite the misleading OVA (it should have totally continued after! You can't stop a series at the hot springs, gosh darn it!), the sexy little bits of the two made it just perfect.

Actually... now that I think about it, I'm going to go watch that again right now.

I usually avoid these things, but...

Oh my.

So. I won't go into detail that no one cares for, but I had a wonderful week in Massachusetts. We didn't end up going to NY because my two-year-old ~~monster~~ brother wouldn't have been able to handle all the excitement. We went all over MA, though, which was great. Salem is amazing. Amazing. And I think I may have seen a Hetalia fangirl walking the streets. (Gothic lolita dress + bag with multiple nation flag pins = Hetalia conclusion? idk)

At this very moment I should be driving from Kansas City back to Columbia, but our Baltimore flight was canceled, so I'm staying in a Rhode Island Comfort Inn until Monday. Internet in 30 minute intervals. Joy.

I'm.... definitely waiting to go through my friend updates until Tuesday. So I can, you know, have an entire day to devote to it.

So! I'm almost back. Here's to hoping I don't perish on any flight back home. And thank you all for your kind well-wishes. I missed you guys, too. =}

So today, I have officially ended my life as a freshman. Leaving my precious Frau in a wimpy mass of tears, I resolved to drown my sorrows in fanfiction this summer.

Other less-important plans include seven days in and around New York next week and 5-6 days in the Colorado mountains for NYR at the end of July. They're just roadblocks in my schedule to keep my mind off of not being with Frau ever again by way of fanfiction. (NYR's gonna be great, tho'.)

Also, I had this on my forehead in Sharpie all day --> Now the quadratic equation has soaked into my brain and it will ~~hopefully~~ never leave.
